New Covergirl Lashblast Intensify Me Liner and The Super Sizer Mascara

Hey guys!

So a few weeks ago Covergirl sent me a package with two new products to try. Though these are slated for release in July, I've actually seen them everywhere, so unfortunately this won't come as a surprise to most of you. Nonetheless, they are still new so I wanted to share my thoughts.

Before I start with the Intensify Me Liquid Liner, I have a confession to make. I can do liquid liner like nobody's business with a brush tip liner. My faves are two cheapies-but-goodies: the Wet n' Wild Mega Eyes and NYC liquid liner. Both have a very liquid formula that is easy to draw on that perfect wing in one fell swoop. However, I don't know what it is about pen eyeliners, but even though they're supposed to be easier to use I ALWAYS mess up with pen liners. They're just, not flexible and that makes them hard for me to use. I prefer brush strokes to a marker, especially when doing something flicking out winged liner.

That being said, on to the Intensify Me liner. First off, this liner pen is in a strange shape. Instead of a fine point, as most eye liner pens are, it's in a paddle shape, so you can use it on the larger side for a bigger line or on the edge for a smaller line. It's definitely a very different feel from other pen liners. I don't care too much for it, but it isn't hard to use or anything. I still wouldn't reach for this over my brush tip liners, but I definitely think it's worth a try to those that prefer pen liners. Felt tip aside, I love the formula of the liner and the pigmentation. It comes out a very vibrant true black while also drying super fast on your lids. One of my biggest problems in makeup is liner that transfers to my hooded eyelids, and I haven't really experienced that with this liner since it dries so fast!

Covergirl also sent me their new Lashblast Super Sizer Mascara. I like the original Covergirl Lashblast Volume (in the orange packaging), so I was intrigued by this. I'm not really a mascara person, though. I have sparse lashes that stick downwards (they're not really short, just really sparse), so I usually pass over a nice mascara for some falsies instead. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Super Sizer. The brush is quite unique, and it has many tiny bristles for capturing all sides of your eyelashes. It added lot of volume and length to my lashes, which surprised me since I usually hate how my eyelashes look with mascara. In fact, for a girl that wears falsies every day she wears eyeshadow, I've actually been substituting my falsies to try this product out and I quite like it. It's definitely long-wearing too, as I've worn it throughout long work shifts and it has held up beautifully.

  3. That liner is a weird shape, I'd probably end up with Amy Winehouse liner rather than a simple wing!
