Amazon Picks

Finally back for good!

Now that it's been exactly one week since Macbeth ended, I think it's safe to say that I miss it a lot, but I've pretty much returned to my old life routine. Which is a good thing because I have lots of work in school to keep me occupied, and now I have a little bit of extra time to blog!

I worked a total of 30 hours in only six days, which shows how much of a time commitment the play was--I have even more respect for the backstage running crew, now that I've experienced their dedication! It's sort of like selling your soul and investing your heart into a production... and then it's just over.

Okay, enough of this sentimental nonsense. It's hard for me to stop talking about Macbeth, because it truly was an amazing experience!

I didn't have time this week to take some nice blog pictures, so I compromised and instead did some Amazon research for some cool clothing/accessory ideas.

Here are my favorite picks, which I added into my Amazon wish list: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/ref=wish_list

(By the way: I am not sponsored by Amazon, nor am I an Amazon Affiliate. I saw these products while perusing with my own free time and I decided that I really liked them!)

So I thought I'd talk a little bit more about these items. I wish the wishlist widget weren't so small... oh well.

In no particular order:

My first favorite on this list has to be the Generic Women's Dovetail Shirt. I think it's such a unique design, and I love the way the fabric is draped! I definitely could see myself wearing this in any kind of casual setting. I also think the model is paired appropriately with the liquid/vinyl leggings, as the top is flowy so it is better to keep the bottom tighter. It's very rockabilly, which I love!

I also love the Nightmare Before Christmas dress from Hot Topic. Though I usually think Hot Topic items are on the unnecessarily pricey side (I only buy band tees on sale from them), this dress won my heart! (It helps that I'm a huge fan of Nightmare Before Christmas.) I think it would look even cuter with sheer black lace top thigh high socks and perhaps some high heeled black booties (like Litas) to give it some edge.

You might also notice that I added two cardigans to the wishlist. Both of them are long cardigans, as I think dark, long cardigans are a closet staple that I unfortunately lack! They go well with most casual outfits, and definitely give it some more personality flair. I think I prefer the skull print cardigan, as you can throw it over a basic tee or sweater to easily draw attention to an otherwise mundane outfit. But, at the same time, I could see myself wearing the cardigan less because I wouldn't be able to pair it with any of my graphic tees.

I always adore lots of leggings and tights, so you will see a few on there. There's also a few more fantasy-inspired items, such as a black velvet cloak (which I've been wanting forever) and a beautiful crystal circlet.

A few more things include ripped Lennon sweaters reminiscent of Wildfox Couture (which I love so, so much but it's so expensive!). I especially love the cats one--I think it's adorable! I've actually seen a few people wearing it, and it looks great with thigh high socks and statement shoes.

I think I've written enough for now. I hope you enjoyed some of my Amazon picks--who says you have to buy designer clothing all the time? I think these are some very unique (or staple) pieces that would work with anyone's closet, regardless of price.

  3. I never buy designer clothing. Fashion isn't about brand, but about how you style your clothes !

I don't know why but in Switzerland, the only thing I can buy on amazon are books...
